Sauna Lodge - 8 Person

Every Nova Sauna uses 38mm thermally modified Canadian timber and weatherproof bitumen roof shingles. The thermal modification process improves the timber’s dimensional stability and resistance to warping, shrinking and moisture, allowing the sauna to remain permanently outdoors and fully exposed to the elements.

Nova Saunas are constructed from 38mm-thick, full-length Canadian timber that has been thermally modified for outdoor stability. Unlike cheaper alternatives that use finger-jointed or laminated staves, Nova uses full-length timber staves without finger joints. This creates a stronger, better-insulated sauna designed for permanent outdoor use in Australian conditions.

Yes. Every Nova Sauna is constructed from 38mm-thick, full-length Canadian timber boards. We do not use short timber offcuts glued together, finger-jointed staves or laminated wall boards. Each wall stave is made from a solid, full-length piece of thermally modified Canadian timber, creating a stronger, more stable and better-insulated outdoor sauna.

With proper care and maintenance, a Nova Sauna is built to last 20+ years.

Our saunas are designed to be low maintenance but like anything, a little care goes a long way toward keeping it looking and performing its best for decades.

Interior: When you first install your sauna, we recommend treating the interior benches with paraffin oil. It penetrates the timber to prevent it from drying out and cracking under repeated heat cycles, keeping the wood from absorbing sweat and moisture over time. This also makes the surface easier to wipe down and keep clean, we recommend reapplying 12 months.

Exterior: For the outside, use a quality penetrating oil designed for exterior timber. Brands like Cutek, Intergrain, or Osmo UV Protection Oil all work well. These oils soak deep into the wood, protect against moisture and UV damage, and allow the timber to breathe naturally. They also come in tintable options if you want to add some colour while keeping that natural timber look. We recommend reapplying every 6–12 months depending on your climate and exposure.

After each session: Once you're done, leave the heater running for around 30 minutes with the door closed to dry out any residual moisture inside the sauna. Then open the door and let it air out for another 30 minutes before closing it up. Give the benches a quick wipe down and remove any towels or damp items.

Absolutely, our saunas are designed for straightforward DIY assembly and most customers find it a pretty enjoyable project. Everything arrives clearly labelled with detailed instructions to guide you through the process.

If you'd prefer to have it professionally installed, we have a network of qualified installers across Australia who can take care of it for you. Just reach out to our team and we'll point you in the right direction.

Yes, your heater needs to be hardwired directly to your home's switchboard by a licensed electrician. It cannot simply be plugged in. The electrician will run a dedicated cable straight from your switchboard to the heater, similar to how an oven or cooktop is wired in. We have a network of electricians across Australia and can recommend one in your local area if needed.

Yes, but it's costly. If you start with the base Harvia Wall SW and later want to upgrade, you can't simply add a control panel as the SW doesn't support one. You'd need to replace the entire heater with the Harvia Wall SWE and then install the control panel. Choose the right heater from the start and save yourself the hassle and expense.

A typical two-hour session costs around $2.15 – $2.80 using average Australian electricity rates.

We only do one thing and we do it properly.

A lot of wellness companies out sell traditional saunas, infrared saunas, ice baths, spas, red light therapy - you name it. When you're spreading yourself across ten different product categories, you simply can't obsess over the details of any one of them.

You wouldn't trust your dentist to perform heart surgery. Specialists exist for a reason.

Nova is a dedicated outdoor traditional sauna company. Every bit of our focus, resources, and product development goes into one thing: building the best traditional sauna we possibly can. No distractions, no chasing wellness trends. Just outdoor traditional saunas.

That focus shows up in the build. When you're not splitting resources across multiple product lines, everything goes into material quality, design refinement, and getting the details right. Our four core models have been refined over years of real-world feedback from Australian customers, in Australian conditions
