Frequently Asked Question
01 Can I upgrade my heater after purchase?
Yes, but it's costly. If you start with the base Harvia Wall SW and later want to upgrade, you can't simply add a control panel as the SW doesn't support one. You'd need to replace the entire heater with the Harvia Wall SWE and then install the control panel. Choose the right heater from the start and save yourself the hassle and expense.
02 Do I need an electrician to install the heater?
Yes, your heater needs to be hardwired directly to your home's switchboard by a licensed electrician. It cannot simply be plugged in. The electrician will run a dedicated cable straight from your switchboard to the heater, similar to how an oven or cooktop is wired in. We have a network of electricians across Australia and can recommend one in your local area if needed.
03 Which sauna heater is right for me?
If you prefer a simple, reliable, and cost-effective option, the Harvia SW is a strong choice.
If you want modern convenience with control panel and smartphone control, with a maximum temeprature of 110 degrees the Harvia SW E with WiFi offers added flexibility.
For those seeking maximum heat, higher humidity, and premium design, the Huum Drop delivers the most luxurious experience.
04 What temperature can these heaters reach?
Harvia SW: up to 85°C
Harvia SW E: up to 110°C
Huum Drop: up to 110°C
05 How long does it take to heat up?
To reach 85°C: 45–45 minutes.
To reach 110°C: 60–70 minutes.
This will be affected by Ambient temperature.
06 Single Phase or Three Phase?
All heaters can be run on either single phase (230V) or three phase (400V)
07 What size heater do I need for my sauna?
You don't need to figure this out yourself. Each Nova sauna comes with a heater specifically matched to its size, the only difference between models is the power output (e.g. 4.5kW vs 6kW vs 9kW).
