THERMOWOOD
Through daily use of our saunas ourselves, we noticed problems with the wood moving and shrinking which led to poor insulation over time prompting us to find a more durable solution. After extensive research, we adopted the Thermowood process—a thermal modification technique that reduces wood movement, increases insulation, and extends the lifespan of our saunas. HOW IS THERMOWOOD MADE?
1. Initial Heating (100°–130°C): Prepares the wood.
2. Thermal Modification (150°–180°C): Removes moisture, reducing movement.
3. Final Stabilisation (180°–230°C): Strengthens structure for longevity.

We started by manufacturing barrel saunas ourselves, but after extensive customer feedback and daily use ourselves, we saw room for improvement. Over 16 months of testing, we found barrel saunas often suffer from uneven heat circulation and have low bench positioning, placing users below the optimal heat zone. Their curved walls and backrests also make it harder to sit comfortably and fully relax, while their bulky, rounded design takes up more backyard space without using it efficiently. With careful refinement, we redesigned all of our saunas to maximise comfort, efficiency, and heat distribution."
